A Brief Overview
The Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer will leverage their comprehensive expertise in enterprise network environments. Key responsibilities include the stewardship of Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and Software Defined Networking (SDN) technologies. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to enhancing and securing network infrastructures. Additionally, this role involves mentoring team members and spearheading strategic projects to drive organizational success in networking solutions.
What you will do
  • Design, implement and support secure network, wireless, and data/voice communication systems within the Peckham organization.
  • Mentor and coach Network Engineers and other members of the IT Team.
  • Lead projects and apply knowledge of enterprise-level wired and wireless networking, unified communications, and Software Defined Network and Data Center concepts, including virtual cloud and hybrid environments, to enhance network solutions.
  • Stay informed about current network technologies and hardware platforms and actively engage in learning about emerging technologies and trends in the IT field.
  • Update and maintain guidelines and procedures for the Peckham Information Technology Department to ensure clarity and compliance.
  • Serve as the escalation point for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues that arise. Support tickets and manage incidents, service requests, and problems through their full life cycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess network requirements and develop solutions that enhance connectivity and efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance and security, utilizing industry-standard tools to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Document network configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance with best practices, adhering to Peckham's change management and documentation processes.
  • Utilize and support network monitoring, logging, and scanning systems to ensure optimal network performance and security.
  • Provide timely status updates and reporting information to Peckham Information Technology Department Managemnt as assigned within areas of responsibility.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and mentoring within the Peckham Information Technology team and business users, while adhering to organizational privacy and security policies.
  • Participate in after-hours support and project work along with on-call rotations as necessary and assigned.

What you will Need
  • Bachelors in Information Technology or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, industry certifications, and experience
  • 5 + years of progressive experience with enterprise local and wide area networking technologies.
  • 4 - 6 years years of hands-on experience with Cisco network routers, routing/switching protocols, network switch, and Cisco wireless technologies
  • Possess an in-depth understanding and hands-on experience with physical network routers (routing protocols) and network switch technologies
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve network issues effectively
  • Proficient in using network monitoring and management tools to ensure optimal performance and security
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in network configurations and documentation
  • Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Attend training sessions and maintain necessary certifications to develop and demonstrate skills that meet Peckham's client contracted-services requirements.
