Job Title:
Network Engineer (Cisco Infrastructure & Security)


Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support the implementation, migration, and ongoing operation of critical network infrastructure for one of the State of Florida's government agencies. This role will work closely with senior technology leadership and infrastructure teams to ensure the successful deployment of a highly available, secure, and resilient network environment supporting the state. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Cisco networking technologies, strong troubleshooting and implementation skills, and experience supporting large-scale enterprise and mission-critical environments. Experience with Cisco Secure Client (AnyConnect) and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) is highly desired.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, support, and optimize enterprise Cisco network infrastructure.
  • Coordinate and support the migration of network services to a new center.
  • Partner with a team of senior architects and engineers during implementation and deployment activities.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot:
    • Cisco routing and switching infrastructure
    • Wireless networks and access points
    • Network security solutions
    • Remote access connectivity
  • Support the deployment and management of more than 220 Cisco wireless access points.
  • Assist with network integration across geographically diverse facilities and redundant data centers.
  • Participate in network performance monitoring, troubleshooting, capacity planning, and incident resolution.
  • Support secure remote access solutions utilizing Cisco Secure Client and related technologies.
  • Implement and support identity-based access controls using Cisco ISE.
  • Create and maintain network diagrams, operational documentation, and support procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal IT staff and provide knowledge transfer to ensure long-term operational readiness.
  • Provide regular status updates and technical guidance to project stakeholders.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies.
  • Experience implementing and supporting enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex network performance and connectivity issues.
  • Knowledge of:
    • TCP/IP
    • VLANs
    • OSPF
    • BGP
    • DNS
    • DHCP
    • Network segmentation and security best practices
  • Experience supporting network infrastructure within large enterprise or data center environments.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work onsite and operate effectively in a high-visibility, mission-critical environment.


Highly Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
  • Experience with Cisco Secure Client (AnyConnect).
  • Experience with Cisco wireless technologies and large-scale wireless deployments.
  • Experience with Cisco security platforms and network access control solutions.
  • Experience supporting highly available or disaster recovery environments.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management platforms.
  • Experience with redundant data center architectures and diverse fiber connectivity.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, or CCIE.
