Job description

LightGrid is hiring for a Network Project Engineer Lead on site at Fort Meade, MD. SECRET Clearance is required. Responsibilities: The candidate shall serve as lead project engineer in the planning and implementation of solutions across multiple network technologies and platforms and provide end-to-end integrated solutions with a proposed implementation strategy. The candidate will leverage subject matter experts from across the contract tasks to provide comprehensive solutions. In support of network projects, the candidate shall provide design packages that include topology drawings, equipment lists, and network plans. The candidate shall provide recommendations on specific procedures for operating and managing network transport including methodologies associated with implementation, administration, and cost management. The candidate shall support the Government leads/engineers through the development and updating of planning documents and models. The candidate shall have demonstrated experience/expertise in:
โ€ข DoW and/or Government program experience preferred.
โ€ข Understanding of requirements analysis, network traffic analysis, engineering analysis and planning, network equipment layout design, network management design.
โ€ข Authoring and updating documentation supporting planning to include Engineering Guide Documents (EGDs), Bill of Materials (MBOM), project drawings and Network management plans.
โ€ข Performed circuit analysis and document finding for the existing network transport and legacy infrastructure.
โ€ข Validate network architecture and develop an architecture strategy for customer traffic flow.
โ€ข Maintain circuit lists, config templates and develop implementation plans.
โ€ข Provide technical expertise in design review, lab testing & test report review, implementation plan development, and deployment of new advanced large-scale complex networks. โ€ข Creation of Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs). โ€ข Some Travel may be required. โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline, e.g., IT Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
โ€ข Security + certification or equivalent 8570 IAT II certification
โ€ข 10 years of network systems engineering experience
โ€ข Process improvement, strategic planning, change management, and organizational redesign.
โ€ข Multiple network types, primarily Internet Protocol (IP) and Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN).
โ€ข Routing protocols and IP network services experience to include BGP, MPLS, OSPF, IS-IS, Layer-2/Layer-3 Virtual Private Network (VPN), IPsec.
โ€ข Hardware/software interface equipment integration/setup (chassis, card, module, and optics) and power requirements of each of the following devices to integrate for transport: Cisco and Juniper routers.
โ€ข Ability to work along with no or little assistance to complete equipment testing.
โ€ข Ability to work in a group to achieve the common goal to resolve complex network issues. โ€ข Ability to work directly with the prime contractor project team.
โ€ข Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to collaborate test plans and reports with Government and equipment vendors.
โ€ข Knowledge and experience with Microsoft office suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio technical drawing program.
