Title : Network Manager

Location : Linthicum, MD

Duration : 6 months

Scope of work:

  • Assist MHBE networking staff to manage and maintain routers and switches.
  • Manage patching, testing, and deployment of workstation and server updates using Absolute Manage.
  • Manage the configuration and implementation of an MHBE-wide asset management tool.
  • Serve as MHBE Incident Response Lead; coordinate responses to network incidents.
  • Configure and manage VPN installation and maintenance.
  • Assist MHBE networking staff with desktop support.
  • Work with MHBE contractors by participating in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity support.
  • Independently and effectively set milestones and meet deadlines to accomplish assigned tasks under tight timeframes with little room for error.
  • Solve problems through critical and analytical thinking.
  • Participate in meetings regarding projects, hosting and data center services, product evaluations, and other activities.
  • Adhere to all MHBE's standard processes, procedures, and guidelines.

Note: The candidate must have the flexibility to work overtime, as needed, to include weekends, holidays, and off-hours.


Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Network Engineer, Security Analyst, Security Administrator, and/or Network Desktop Specialist.
  • Familiarity with Security Configuration Baselines.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale IT enterprise projects in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating across multiple groups and interacting with various teams to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively set milestones, meet deadlines, and work in a self-directed fashion to accomplish assigned tasks under tight time frames with little room for error.


Preferred Skills:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience implementing Cisco VPN or other VPN solutions.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing Enterprise Networks.
  • MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) Certification.
  • Absolute / Computrace Certification and/or experience.
  • Experience in Health and Human Services and/or Healthcare Technology
