Job Title:       Telecommunications Network Engineer *Top Secret Security Clearance required*

Location:      Cherry Point, NC ( onsite) 

Overview

CompTech is seeking a Telecommunications Network Engineer to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS), Network & Telecommunications Services (NTS), Local Area Network (LAN) Branch. The engineer will provide technical expertise in the design, implementation, integration, and sustainment of secure wired and wireless Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure supporting enterprise-wide DLA operations.

This role is responsible for maintaining the technical integrity of the network environment throughout its lifecycle, supporting network modernization initiatives, troubleshooting complex connectivity issues, and ensuring reliable, secure network operations across multiple DLA locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, integrate, and support enterprise wired and wireless LAN infrastructure.
  • Maintain the technical baseline of network systems throughout the lifecycle, including deployment, operations, maintenance, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Perform network engineering, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization for LAN, WAN, voice, and wireless environments.
  • Support the integration and testing of new hardware, software, and network technologies while minimizing operational disruption.
  • Analyze network performance, identify root causes of issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure availability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with government personnel and cross-functional technical teams to support network modernization and continuous service improvement.
  • Ensure network solutions comply with DoD security requirements, enterprise standards, and configuration management processes.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, engineering artifacts, and implementation procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience in network operations. Higher education or military service may be substituted for the required experience.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting telecommunications networks.
  • Experience with voice, LAN, WAN, wireless networking, and network management technologies.
  • Experience integrating, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting complex hardware and software systems.
  • Working knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative technical environment.

Certification Requirements

DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (one of the following):

  • Security+ CE
  • CySA+
  • CASP+ CE
  • CCNP Security
  • CCNA Security
  • SSCP
  • GSEC
  • GICSP
  • CISA
  • CISSP (or Associate)
  • GCED
  • GCIH
  • CND

AND one of the following network certifications:

  • CCNA
  • CCNP
  • CCSP
  • CCSE NGX
  • CCSE NGX Plus NG with AI
  • CCMSE NG with AI
  • CSMSE NG with AI Plus VSX

Security Clearance Requirement
