Job description

Network Infrastructure Migration Coordinator / Network Technician

Location: Greater Milwaukee Area

Duration: 6-9 Month Contract

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Business Hours

Overview

Our healthcare client is undergoing a large-scale network infrastructure modernization project and is seeking 1-2 experienced IT professionals to support network equipment replacements and migrations across multiple locations.

This role will serve as a key liaison between IT teams, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful network infrastructure deployments with minimal disruption to business operations. While senior engineering staff will manage core configurations and after-hours cutovers, these positions will focus on project coordination, equipment installation, cabling migrations, documentation, asset management, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate infrastructure migration activities with internal IT teams, vendors, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Assist with racking, stacking, decommissioning, and relocation of network equipment, including switches, routers, and related hardware.
  • Support cabling migrations and ensure proper labeling, documentation, and cable management practices.
  • Track equipment, assets, network connections, and migration activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate IP address updates and validate connectivity following migration activities.
  • Update and maintain network management systems, including network access control, IP address management (IPAM), and monitoring platforms.
  • Collaborate with network, server, application, operations, and support teams to minimize service interruptions.
  • Perform post-migration validation and troubleshooting to verify connectivity, hardware functionality, and system access.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, including network diagrams, implementation plans, change records, schedules, and rollback procedures.
  • Support project managers and network engineering teams during planning and execution phases.
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience supporting enterprise network environments.
  • Hands-on experience with network infrastructure deployments, hardware installations, cabling, or migration projects.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Routing and switching concepts
    • TCP/IP networking
    • VLANs, DNS, and DHCP
    • Basic network troubleshooting methodologies
  • Experience utilizing network management, monitoring, or IP address management tools.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Cisco networking environments.
  • Familiarity with network access control, IPAM, and network monitoring platforms.
  • Experience supporting healthcare, large enterprise, or highly regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling standards and data center best practices.
  • Previous experience supporting infrastructure refresh, migration, or network modernization projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
