Job description

Position Overview

The Mission Assurance Center (MAC) Operator serves as a frontline operational resource within Technology Operations, providing real-time monitoring, incident coordination, and operational support across enterprise technology environments. This role is responsible for maintaining situational awareness of technology services, identifying and escalating issues, executing operational procedures, and supporting service reliability through effective monitoring and communication.

The ideal candidate has experience in technology operations, network monitoring, troubleshooting, incident management, and operational support within a fast-paced environment.


Key ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Monitoring & Operations
  • Monitor enterprise technology environments using dashboards, monitoring platforms, event management tools, and automated alerting systems.
  • Proactively identify, investigate, and respond to system, network, application, infrastructure, and service-related issues.
  • Maintain awareness of the overall health, performance, and availability of technology services.
  • Document incidents, operational events, service disruptions, and resolution activities within service management systems.
  • Support continuous monitoring efforts to improve operational visibility and service reliability.
Incident Management & Escalation
  • Serve as an escalation point for support issues received during assigned shifts.
  • Initiate incident response calls for service-impacting events requiring coordinated technical support.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting and triage to gather relevant information for incident resolution.
  • Coordinate escalation and routing of issues to the appropriate technical support teams.
  • Track incident progress, action items, and communication updates throughout the lifecycle of an issue.
  • Provide timely operational updates during outages, maintenance activities, and service disruptions.
Operational Support & Playbook Execution
  • Execute approved operational playbooks, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform validation, recovery, maintenance, and operational health checks as documented.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, systems, and application support teams to enhance operational procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve documentation, handoffs, workflows, and operational readiness.
  • Ensure adherence to established support and escalation processes.
Configuration & Asset Management
  • Assist with Configuration Management Database (CMDB) reviews and updates.
  • Support efforts to maintain accurate service ownership, relationships, infrastructure details, and location information.
  • Review technology records and identify data quality issues or inconsistencies.
  • Coordinate follow-up with technical teams to address documentation gaps.
Inventory Management
  • Support inventory management activities for technology equipment and spare assets.
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, tracking, auditing, and maintaining inventory records.
  • Help manage asset lifecycle activities and inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure availability of critical spare equipment and supplies.
Service Management & Compliance
  • Follow established Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, and Request Management processes.
  • Maintain accurate tickets, operational notes, documentation, and status updates.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Perform additional operational duties as assigned.

Required QualificationsEducation
  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, certifications, and relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
  • 2–4 years of experience in:

  • Experience working in an operations center, monitoring center, service desk, or similar support environment preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues and coordinating escalations across multiple support teams.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, observability, event management, alerting, and service management practices.
  • Experience following documented procedures, runbooks, and operational playbooks in a production environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
