What You'll Do

As a VoIP & Network Field Technician, you'll help customers successfully deploy and maintain modern communication systems by:

  • Performing onsite network assessments before installations
  • Installing and configuring cloud phone systems, IP phones, routers, switches, and network equipment
  • Setting up users, extensions, voicemail, auto attendants, call queues, and call routing
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity, VoIP performance, and call quality issues
  • Coordinating phone number porting, project schedules, and customer go-live activities
  • Working closely with customer IT departments, vendors, and internal project teams
  • Testing systems before deployment, including emergency calling, voicemail, paging, and failover services
  • Training customer administrators and end users
  • Documenting installations, configurations, and project progress
  • Owning technical issues through successful resolution while providing exceptional customer service

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone with strong technical skills, professionalism, and a passion for customer service.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of customer-facing technical field experience in:
    • VoIP or telecommunications
    • Managed IT services
    • Commercial networking
    • Structured cabling or low-voltage systems
    • Security or AV installations
    • Or a related technical field
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN networking
  • Experience with routers, managed switches, firewalls, wireless networking, or PoE devices
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, NAT, and network troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to travel throughout New Jersey

College degree not required. We value real-world experience, technical aptitude, and a customer-first mindset.

Bonus Skills (Not Required)

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • Hosted VoIP or UCaaS platforms
  • Microsoft Teams Calling or Direct Routing
  • SIP, RTP, QoS, packet captures, latency, jitter, and packet-loss analysis
  • Yealink, Poly, Peplink, Algo, or Phybridge hardware
  • Cloud POTS, paging, fax, door-entry, alarm, or elevator communication systems
  • Telephone number porting and carrier coordination
  • CRM or communications platform integrations
  • CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Microsoft, SIP School SSCA, or similar certifications
