Job description

Job Title: Senior Systems Operations Engineer (Data & Integration)
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Systems Operations Engineer to own the end-to-end reliability of our mission-critical data integration and processing platforms. This role is the "final line of defense" for complex production systems that handle high-volume data ingestion, transformation, and enterprise-wide distribution.
You will act as a technical authority, ensuring that our data-heavy applications remain performant, accurate, and compliant. The ideal candidate is an expert in Unix/Oracle environments who can troubleshoot deep-stack performance issues, optimize automated data workflows, and bridge the gap between technical operations and business-critical data availability.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations & Integration
• End-to-End Reliability: Own the operational health of mission-critical platforms, including ingestion, transformation, aggregation, and publishing workflows.
• Complex Troubleshooting: Lead the investigation and resolution of critical data-quality issues, system defects, and integration failures. Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) on production outages and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Pipeline Optimization: Configure, performance-tune, and optimize high-volume processing rules, batch schedules, and complex dependencies to ensure timely data delivery to downstream stakeholders and warehouses.
• Systems Integration: Oversee the integrity of integrations between our primary data platform and broader enterprise systems (CIS, Analytics, Data Warehousing).
Engineering & Compliance
• Technical Governance: Develop and maintain high-quality system documentation, operational runbooks, and standardized performance metrics.
• Release & Test Cycles: Execute comprehensive test cycles (functional, performance, and operational readiness) for all system changes, patches, and defect fixes.
• Regulatory Compliance: Manage the system within a SOX-regulated environment, ensuring strict adherence to access controls, audit logging, and formal change-management protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in Unix/Linux and Oracle applications, with a proven history of 24/7 production-level application support.
• Technical Mastery:
oExpert-level SQL/PL/SQL (query tuning, performance troubleshooting, and complex data validation).
oProven experience supporting enterprise-grade Oracle WebLogic environments.
oHands-on proficiency in Python and Unix/Shell scripting for automation and operational reporting.
• Communication: Ability to distill complex technical failures into clear, concise updates for executive-level leadership.
Preferred Attributes
• Experience supporting mission-critical batch processing and time-sensitive data flows.
• Familiarity with enterprise workload automation tools (e.g., UC4 or similar schedulers).
• Experience with large-scale digital transformations or enterprise data migrations.
• Deep understanding of audit logging and data integrity within highly regulated corporate environments.
