The role focuses on the development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of satellite groundsegment software that supports test events, launch rehearsals, and operational missions.

What You'll Get to Do

  • Fullstack development at the OS, platform, and missionunique software layer.
  • Design and implement applications/services using serviceoriented or objectoriented architectures and messaging protocols.
  • Work with a variety of languages and toolsets, including C, C++, C# or Java or Python.
  • Act as a selfstarter, making decisions that consider overall project budget and schedule.
  • Support groundsegment operations and associated configurations, troubleshooting both software errors and hardware issues that affect ground software.
  • Participate in Acceptance Test events - planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts.
  • Configure groundsegment software for development, test, and operational environments.
  • Resolve and remediate software defects; implement enhancements driven by customer change requests or mission needs.
  • Provide groundsoftware support during launch and launchrehearsal events.
  • Install new groundsegment software across operational, development, and test environments.

Principal Software Engineer (Level3)

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM related field with 5 years of Computer or Software engineering experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master's degree.

  • Experience working with Windows, Unix/Linux OS

SrPrincipal Software Engineer (Level4)

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM related field with 8 years of Computer or Software engineering experience, or 6 years of experience with a Master's degree, or 4 years of experience with a PhD
  • Expert level real world experience working in C/C++ and knowledge in C#, Java, Python
  • Extensive experience working with Windows, Unix/Linux OS
  • Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, documentation, integration, debug and maintenance are required
  • Experience in Atlassian Products like Jira, Gitlab, Confluence and have experience running teams in a Product Owner or Team Lead capacity
  • Proficiency in diagnosing electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, including the use of oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and signal generators. Expertise in maintaining, adjusting, and calibrating precision measurement equipment to verify they meet established standards and working with different network protocols
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance, with ability to be cleared to special access programs

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
