Job Description:

Duties / responsibilities and role:

May perform all or a subset of the following duties:

  • Work independently as well as collaborate and engage other subject matter experts in developing solutions and resolving problems with a Team player outlook in a matrix environment desired.
  • Provide expertise in day-to-day work for data, voice, and WWW/LAN/WAN/WLAN environments.
  • Monitors network connections and assure network operability and security; monitor bandwidth and connectivity status of network devices; assure system stability, accessibility, and proper configuration of assigned technical systems and components.
  • Lead projects and technology implementations, network engineering and derive tactical solutions as assigned.
  • Provide help with technical staff, including the diagnosing and troubleshooting of systems networking, hardware, and software problems.
  • Verify integrity of data, voice, and WWW/LAN/WAN/WLAN networks: identify problems, determine solutions, and ensure proper implementation.
  • Based on user or company needs, evaluate, and recommend new or enhanced network hardware and software systems/technologies and network designs for maximum functionality, security, and minimal cost.
  • Analyze capacity requirements and--based on business needs--initiate, change, or move various data, voice and LAN/WAN/WLAN networks and systems.
  • Update role knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participate in professional organizations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is preferred
  • Security + is also preferred

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years' experience working in a role implementing, administering, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN/WLAN environments.
  • Familiarity with technologies that align with future operations strategy is a plus; Microsoft M365, AWS/Azure cloud, DoD Classified Environments, SD-WAN, IaaS/PaaS, datacenter to cloud transition, Cisco DNA, Cisco Wireless Cisco Nexus', Cisco routers, Cisco Client as well as BGP and OSPF.

Security Clearance

  • The selected individual must have the ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a Client Fitness designation
