Job description

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is building some of the world's largest and most advanced cloud networks. The Network Products Engineering team is responsible for defining, developing, validating, and delivering the next generation of networking products that power OCI's global cloud infrastructure.

We are seeking an experienced Network Development Leader to lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of network products spanning Ethernet switches, routers, optical systems, and custom ASIC-based platforms. This leader will guide the team through product definition, architecture, design, validation, deployment readiness, and lifecycle management while ensuring products meet OCI's demanding standards for scale, reliability, performance, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate combines deep networking expertise with exceptional leadership and cross-functional execution skills. They have extensive experience partnering with networking silicon vendors, OEMs, ODMs, and optical manufacturers to influence product roadmaps, resolve technical challenges, and drive delivery of platforms aligned with OCI's long-term infrastructure strategy.

Success in this role requires building strong partnerships across Network Engineering, Network Operations, Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, and Product Management. This leader must be comfortable driving alignment and delivering results through influence across organizations without direct authority.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network product engineers responsible for the design, qualification, deployment, and lifecycle management of networking platforms supporting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Establish technical vision, priorities, and execution plans for Network Products Engineering in alignment with OCI infrastructure strategy.
  • Drive the design, development, testing, validation, and deployment readiness of switching, routing, optical, and ASIC-based networking platforms.
  • Partner with external hardware vendors, silicon providers, and optical manufacturers to influence technology roadmaps, prioritize features, resolve product gaps, and ensure successful delivery against OCI requirements.
  • Own vendor technical relationships and represent OCI during architecture reviews, design discussions, qualification activities, and executive business reviews.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives involving Network Engineering, Software Engineering, Network Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, Product Management, and Data Center Engineering.
  • Translate business and infrastructure requirements into product specifications, engineering deliverables, and execution plans.
  • Drive hardware qualification programs, interoperability testing, manufacturing readiness, deployment validation, and lifecycle management.
  • Establish engineering processes, quality standards, and operational readiness criteria that ensure reliable deployment at hyperscale.
  • Identify technical and program risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous improvement, innovation, accountability, and operational rigor.
  • Develop organizational capability through coaching, talent development, hiring, succession planning, and performance management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
  • 10+ years of networking or hardware engineering experience, including leadership experience managing engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding of modern data center networking technologies including Ethernet switching, routing, optical transport, network ASICs, and high-speed interconnects.
  • Experience working directly with network equipment vendors, ASIC manufacturers, optics suppliers, ODMs, and OEM partners.
  • Demonstrated success influencing external vendor roadmaps and driving execution across complex technical partnerships.
  • Experience delivering networking products at hyperscale cloud or service provider scale.
  • Strong understanding of hardware development lifecycles including architecture, qualification, manufacturing, deployment, and sustaining engineering.
  • Proven ability to lead large cross-functional initiatives involving multiple engineering and business organizations.
  • Excellent communication, executive presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Track record of delivering complex technical programs through collaboration and influence rather than direct authority.
