Job description

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure operations in Tallahassee, Florida. This is a long-term contract position requiring ongoing, on-site engagement and close collaboration with technical teams across the organization. The role focuses on network design, implementation, troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement in a large-scale environment.
Responsibilities:
• Act as a primary technical contact for network-related initiatives, coordinating communication among project stakeholders and internal teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across multi-vendor network hardware and software platforms, including routing, wireless, remote access, and firewall technologies.
• Mentor and train team members with varying levels of experience to strengthen operational knowledge and technical consistency.
• Identify process and system improvement opportunities by enhancing automation, monitoring practices, and technical documentation.
• Create and maintain network standards, technical procedures, implementation plans, and support documentation for ongoing operations.
• Partner with internal teams and end users to complete server-related installations, upgrades, and configuration updates that affect network services.
• Evaluate business and technical needs, research viable options, and recommend network solutions that align with functional requirements.
• Support the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise connectivity solutions across LAN, WAN, VPN, cloud, voice, and wireless environments.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or four years of equivalent work experience.

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure or network engineering, including planning, design, and implementation work.

• Background supporting large enterprise network environments serving 2,500 or more users.

• Experience leading technical efforts and cross-training team members in operational and support practices.

• Proven ability to deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot technologies such as LAN, WAN, VPN, SD-WAN, routers, wireless access points, and next-generation firewalls.

• Familiarity with cloud networking and infrastructure services, including AWS and Microsoft Azure environments.

• Working knowledge of VoIP, Quality of Service, latency, jitter, load balancing, and secure remote connectivity concepts.
