Job Title: Low Voltage Network Cabling Technician
Job Location: 100% Onsite, primarily Brooklyn, NY and Queens, NY with occasional work in Manhattan and the Bronx NY
Pay Range: $25-$27/hr (W2 ONLY), depending on experience
Work Environment: Field-based / On-site

Position Overview

Our non-profit client, who is headquartered in New York, NY, has several locations across 4 of the 5 boroughs (excluding Staten Island). They are seeking a Low Voltage Network Cabling Technician with 1 3+ years of experience to support network infrastructure installations throughout New York City. This is a hands-on field position focused on structured cabling, wireless access point (WAP) installations, and related networking equipment.

The majority of projects will be located in Brooklyn and Queens, with occasional assignments in Manhattan and the Bronx. The ideal candidate is dependable, punctual, technically capable, and comfortable traveling between job sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pull and route new low-voltage network cabling at client locations.
  • Terminate network cables at patch panels and workstation/station locations.
  • Test installed cabling and verify proper connectivity and performance.
  • Install wireless access points (WAPs) and other networking equipment.
  • Assist with the installation and setup of network racks and related equipment.
  • Follow layout diagrams, installation plans, and project specifications.
  • Identify and address basic cabling and connectivity issues during installation.
  • Maintain an organized and professional work area.
  • Travel to client and project locations throughout the assigned NYC boroughs.
  • Complete installations accurately and within established project timelines.
Qualifications
  • 1 3+ years of experience with low-voltage cabling, structured cabling, network installations, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience pulling, terminating, and testing network cabling.
  • Experience terminating cables at patch panels and workstation/station locations.
  • Familiarity with wireless access points and basic networking equipment.
  • Ability to follow rack layouts, diagrams, and installation instructions.
  • Must have the tools necessary to perform low-voltage cabling and installation work.
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel regularly to job sites in Brooklyn and Queens, as well as occasional projects in Manhattan and the Bronx.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Must be dependable and consistently punctual.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with project teams.
