Job description

Associate Advisor
Desjardins Financial Security Independent Network — Ottawa, Kingston or London ON | Hybrid | Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

We're growing - and we're looking for the right person to grow with us.

DFSIN Ottawa is hiring an Associate Advisor to join a high-performing, client-obsessed team that genuinely loves what it does. This isn't an entry-level seat-filler role. We're looking for someone with real experience, sharp instincts, and a genuine passion for helping clients build financial security for themselves and their families.

You'll work closely with a Principal Advisor to deliver exceptional service to an existing client base — preparing for meetings, executing on financial plans, managing portfolios, and building the kind of long-term client relationships that define a great practice.

If you're looking for a place where your work actually matters, where there's room to grow, and where the culture is built around people — this might be exactly what you've been looking for.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver exceptional day-to-day client service and build lasting relationships
  • Prepare for client meetings and execute recommendations from financial plans
  • Conduct research and analysis to support financial planning and investment strategies
  • Collaborate with the Principal Advisor on portfolio monitoring and management
  • Maintain accurate client records using CRM tools
  • Support cash management, budgeting, and forecasting as needed

What You Bring

  • Active Mutual Funds and Life Insurance licences (required)
  • CFP designation or actively working toward it (strong preference)
  • Mid-level experience in financial services — you know your way around a financial plan
  • Strong analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A client-first mindset, always
  • Driver's licence and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary plus bonus and commission potential
  • potential for employee benefits and RRSP matching program
  • Hybrid work arrangement
  • A team that invests in your growth - we want you to build a long-term career here, not just fill a seat
  • A culture that actually walks the talk on work-life balance
