Title: Implementation Specialist – Network Engineer

Reports to: Technical Services Manager

Based at: 1145 Innovation Drive, Kanata, ON, with potential for weekly travel to customer sites.
This is a new and exciting opening at PureLogic!


About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Implementation Specialist – Network Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise-grade network infrastructures across both on-premises and cloud environments. This role focuses on delivering reliable, high-performance, and scalable network solutions, with an awareness of security best practices and frameworks.

You will work closely with cloud, security, and infrastructure teams, and contribute to innovative network designs, firewall configurations, SASE solutions, and hybrid connectivity deployments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain on-premises enterprise network infrastructures, with some cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Configure and manage firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and virtual network appliances, primarily Cisco and Palo Alto (Panorama), with Fortinet as a plus.
  • Implement SD-WAN, SASE, and hybrid connectivity solutions.
  • Ensure networks are highly available, secure, and scalable.
  • Collaborate with cloud, security, and infrastructure teams to implement efficient and compliant network solutions.
  • Document infrastructure designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues when necessary, ensuring minimal service impact.
  • Participate in client engagements, including onsite network implementation and design reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of hands-on network engineering experience (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs).
  • Strong experience with Cisco and Palo Alto technologies;
  • F5, NSX, SD-WAN, and SASE exposure
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols and concepts: TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, NAT, and load balancing.
  • Familiarity with network design and implementation best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite for client engagements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CCNA, FCSS, PCNSE, VMware, NSX, or equivalent.
  • Experience with network automation or infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Terraform, Python).
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001) is beneficial.
  • Exposure to air-gapped or highly regulated environments.
