Job description

Technical Project Manager facilitates overall project delivery from receipt of order/assignment through project acceptance. Maintains clear communication with all stakeholders – including customers, end users, and interdisciplinary teams alike. Directs project status updates, accounting directives, and workflow for assigned team-members. Responds to matters of urgency with a level of prioritization and ability to operate under pressure. Escalates issues appropriately to functional managers, directors, and upper management, as needed, where it impacts projects overall delivery and profitability.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently utilizes established project management tools to drive productivity, accountability, and buy-in from all stakeholders (Rolling Action Items List, Schedule, etc.)
  • Develops and maintains healthy and productive relationships with interdisciplinary teams between both AWR, ESD, customers, and end users.
  • Drives assigned personnel to on-time and on-budget projects by developing team goals and removing roadblocks.
  • Responds to project-needs with clear communication – timely, accurate, direct, and or empathetic.
  • Monitors procurement processes and coordinates with relevant personnel to achieve expected project schedule and project budget.
  • Works effortlessly in systems like Oracle Netsuite, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft 365.
  • Utilizes established project management tools to drive productivity and accountability (Rolling Action Items List, Schedule, etc.)
  • Creates and gains acceptance on project documentation to better monitor project status and deliverables (Engineering Change Orders, Factory Acceptance, etc.).
  • Navigates complex situations and with buy-in, determines a concise plan or path to resolution/execution.
  • Carries oneself as a professional and maintains respect amongst peers and customers.
  • Based on business-need, assist, support, or perform other duties within defined scope and ability – assuming accountability and responsibility for those assigned projects or programs.
  • Adheres to Gosiger’s Vision, Mission, and Values as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Adheres to established project management processes/workflows and role-specific swim lanes (where relevant) to guide project execution.
  • Continuously reviews current processes and searches out improvement methods to improve product/process quality, reduces waste, rework, and unnecessary work that adds no value to the work or processes.
  • Exceptional communication with strong emotional intelligence and sound decision-making in customer-facing situations.
  • Project Management in a complex cross-functional environment. Machine Tools or Metal Manufacturing background preferred.
  • Mechanical/Technical competency required. Strong interest in machines or how-things-work preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Independent technology user with platforms such as Microsoft 365, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, and Oracle Netsuite.

Working Conditions:  

  • Extensive internal/external stakeholder communication, email, in person, video, text, etc.
  • Extensive PC use, significant time at a computer workstation in front of a monitor.
  • Frequently in a manufacturing environment, either at Gosiger or in customer facilities.
  • Frequent exposure to partially assembled equipment.
