Position Summary
NORA is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support the finance team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a current college student to gain hands-on experience in accounting operations, financial systems, and business processes within a mission-driven healthcare logistics organization. The intern will play an active role in billing functions, NetSuite system integration tasks, and the setup and maintenance of customer accounts. This position offers practical exposure to real-world accounting workflows in a professional environment.
Essential Functions
The primary duties of the Accounting Intern include:
โข Assist with the preparation and processing of customer invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely submission in accordance with billing procedures
โข Support billing reconciliation by reviewing charges, identifying discrepancies, and coordinating corrections with the appropriate team members
โข Assist with NetSuite system integration projects, including data entry, validation, and testing to support accurate and efficient financial workflows
โข Set up and maintain new customer accounts in NetSuite, ensuring all required information is accurately entered and documented
โข Verify customer account data for completeness and accuracy, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain missing information
โข Support the finance team with ongoing system maintenance tasks, including updating records and assisting with process improvements
โข Generate and distribute reports from NetSuite as directed by the finance team
โข Assist with filing, document management, and maintaining organized financial records
โข Collaborate with team members across departments to support cross-functional accounting needs
โข Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
โข Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Business, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field
โข Previous computer experience required; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) strongly preferred
โข Familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems (NetSuite experience a plus, but not required)
โข Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping
โข Ability to learn new software systems quickly and adapt to evolving processes
โข Solid organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
โข Strong written and verbal communication skills
โข Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism
