Position Summary
The Infra Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for planning, executing, and documenting NETA reliability tests on medium- and low-voltage equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and capacitor banks, ensuring compliance with NETA, IEC, and IEEE standards. They analyze test data, generate detailed reports, and coordinate corrective maintenance to improve asset reliability while strictly adhering to NFPA 70E and OSHA safety protocols. The role also involves calibrating test instruments, supporting internal audits, and mentoring junior staff. Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.
Role and Responsibilities
Here's What You'll Be Responsible For:
  • Plan & Execute NETA testing for all electrical distribution equipment falling under NFPA 70B Data analysis & reporting - record raw data calculate key parameters (e.g., insulation resistance, dielectric loss, PD magnitude).
  • Produce NETA-compliant test reports, highlight deviations, and suggest remedial actions.
  • Maintenance Coordination - Work with the reliability team to integrate test results into preventive-maintenance schedules.
  • Initiate work orders for repair/replacement when thresholds are exceeded. Equipment Calibration - Ensure all test instruments are calibrated per NETA/ISO requirements.
  • Participate in internal audits and external NETA accreditation visits. Safety & Compliance - follow all written SOPs and non-standard work instructions, enforce LOTO, and wear proper PPE.
  • Troubleshoot breakdowns using industry experience and written procedures to minimize downtime to critical systems.

Skills and Qualifications
Here's what you'll need:
  • Highschool graduate or GED minimum.
  • [Preferred] Associates degree in Electrical Engineering technology or bachelors of science in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in industrial distribution electrical equipment reliability testing.
  • [Preferred] NETA certified Technician.
  • Working knowledge of IEEE, NEC, IEC.
  • Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70B and 70E & Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW)
  • OSHA 30 certification.

The current base salary range for this role is between $20.50 - $46.00/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
