About Shermco:

Since 1974, Shermco has become North America's largest and fastest growing NETA-accredited electrical testing organization. Our focus is to make sure electrical power systems are functioning properly and safely. Additionally, our Professional Engineering Group, Rotating Machinery Division, Renewable Energy Services, and Field Repair and local Repair Service Centers, places Shermco in a position to handle all things electrical,  all done with an emphasis on safety and client service.

Position Summary:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company. This includes managing staff, ensuring that all processes are running smoothly, and identifying areas for improvement. The Operations Manager will work closely with other departments to ensure that the company is meeting its goals and objectives.

This is a $30+M branch with 50 employees that performs NETA testing, repair and maintenance and breaker ship repair.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all processes are running smoothly and efficiently
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement new strategies to increase productivity
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to measure success and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all goals are aligned and met
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws
Qualifications
  • An education at the bachelor's level in engineering or business management is highly preferred.  Specific industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations/general management with full P&L responsibility of $5-10M + and at least 8-10+ employees, ideally in an engineering services or field services environment in manufacturing, MEP, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial
  • Experience working with customers and building relationships
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience growing a business
  • Self-starter
  • Strong safely culture leadership experience
  • A strong desire to "win"/competitive nature with a strong drive, energy, and motivation
  • An interest and ability in being a hands-on leader
  • Strong change management skills
