Position Summary

The DSD Field Sales Representative owns and delivers sales for their overall territory by developing relationships with Store Managers and other retail personnel to achieve directed short and long-term performance objectives. This is achieved with a focus on delivering the overall value of retail (VOR) to include sales, displays, new items and core distribution. Activities center on coverage of Nestle items, including systemic problem solving related to out of stocks, new item speed to shelf, share of shelf, price compliance, and promotion selling.  

The position covers a West Los Angeles, CA territory that stretches from Malibu down to Long Beach.  Candidate should live in an area to accommodate this type of daily commute.

This role will be responsible for selling Nestle Premium Waters and Ready To Drink products and is part of a DSD model.  Regular long distance driving is expected to visit client sites, attend meetings and support field activities.  There are physical demands that including lifting and carrying up to 55 lbs, pushing, pulling and bending to set up displays and move carts and standing and walking during store visits, trade shows and field work.

Responsibilities: 

    Partner with Distributor, collaborating and ensuring prodct knowledge by in person and phone communication.

    Sell incremental volume for display and obtain maximum support for promoted products.
   Sell promotional surveys for displays.
   Sell additional products based on opportunities observed.

     Collaborates with targeted store-level/district-level retail operations personnel to create and execute business reviews that drive volume.
   Leads expenditure of financial resources in a fiscally responsible manner.
   Ensures compliance to pricing guidelines at retail level.    Reports competitive price changes and promotional support and resolves competitive pricing issues.    Identify and correct voids and ensure new items are available. 
   Merchandise products to obtain schematic compliance, pack out shelves, rotate products, handle unsellable product and resolve systemic problems related to out-of-stocks and voids.
   Develops and maintains proper relations with department/store level personnel within territory in order maximize sales results.
   Communicates market insights from the retail level to management.
 

Requirements: 
     High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Psychology or in a related field preferred. 
   2+ years of retail sales, merchandising or retail management experience of CPG products preferred, not required. 
   Must possess a valid Driver's License in good standing. 
   Must have excellent customer service and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail. 
   Must possess strong communication (oral and written), selling and analytical skills. 
   Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook) and other POS systems. 
   Ability to analyze financial, inventory, retail conditions and/or other data to utilize appropriate selling techniques. 
   Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and ability to meet tight deadlines. 
   Must be willing and able to travel within the territory and may require overnight travel to meet customer and operational needs. 

The approximate pay range for this position is $65K - $80K base plus annual bonus. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
