At Eagle's Nest, we believe that nutritious foods are a cornerstone of a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. Campers dine on fresh meats and dairy products, and natural and organically grown produce such as garden-fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, unrefined sugar, honey, and olive oil. We also cater for vegetarian and vegan diets.
Overview
The Kitchen Staff members are responsible for cooking healthy meals for our campers. Food is served family style 3 times daily with breakfast at 8:00, lunch at 12:15 and dinner at 5:00. We strive to provide food that is made from scratch, using produce from our garden as it is available. We also accommodate various dietary restrictions and needs including those related to food allergies and lifestyle choices. We provide options for vegetarians and vegans. We are not nut free. We make fresh bread.
Kitchen Staff will work in shifts. Morning shift is from 6:15 AM - 1:30 PM and afternoon shift is from 12:30 PM - 7:00 PM. Each shift will have a 30 minute break determined by the Kitchen Manager or Shift Lead.
Duties and Responsibilities
Risk Management
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
  • Know all food protocols.
  • Use all equipment as intended and safely.
  • Come to work in the appropriate attire (closed toe shoes, headgear, and shirt with sleeves)

General
  • Assist in putting away food orders as needed.
  • Assist in prepping and cooking all meals on shift.
  • Afternoon shift - close down kitchen
  • Assist in washing pots as needed

Required Qualifications
  • 18 years of age and at least one year out of high school.
  • Experience and familiarity with commercial kitchens.

Desired Qualifications
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certificate
  • Experience preparing food for dietary restrictions and allergens
