Real Estate Services Appraiser - Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform real estate appraisals for transportation projects in compliance with WisDOT standards and federal regulations.
  • Prepare detailed appraisal reports for property acquisitions related to municipal and WisDOT projects.
  • Estimate acquisition costs and provide valuation support for project budgeting.
  • Collaborate with negotiators and project managers to ensure accurate property valuations.
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends and property valuation methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with the Uniform Act, NEPA, and eminent domain principles.

Requirements
Real Estate Services Appraiser - Skills and Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation real estate/right-of-way services with a focus on appraisal.
  • Wisconsin Certified General Appraiser required.
  • WisDOT-approved Appraiser preferred.
  • Familiarity with the WisDOT Real Estate Program Manual.
  • Strong understanding of real estate laws, eminent domain principles, Uniform Act, and NEPA.
  • Ability to prepare clear, defensible appraisal reports and communicate findings effectively.
  • Notary Public certification, or ability to obtain.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Applicable U.S.-based work experience.
