Can you negotiate a job to be remote?

Negotiation for a remote position depends on the employer and the company's policies. Candidates can discuss remote work options during the interview process or offer stage, especially if they have relevant skills and experience that support remote work arrangements. Clear communication and demonstrating how remote work benefits both parties can improve the chances of negotiating a remote role.

What are some common challenges faced by negotiation professionals working remotely, and how can they overcome them?

Negotiation professionals working remotely often face challenges such as building rapport without in-person cues, managing time zone differences, and ensuring clear communication during virtual discussions. To overcome these hurdles, it's important to leverage video conferencing tools for face-to-face interaction, prepare thoroughly by researching cultural and organizational backgrounds, and establish clear agendas for each meeting. Regular check-ins and transparent communication can also help maintain trust and momentum throughout the negotiation process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Negotiator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Negotiator, you need expertise in negotiation strategies, conflict resolution, and a relevant educational background such as business, law, or communications. Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms, CRM software, and contract management systems is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, active listening, and clear written and verbal communication set outstanding negotiators apart in remote settings. These abilities are crucial for building trust, reaching mutually beneficial agreements, and maintaining productive relationships despite geographic distance.

This period allows both employer and employee to assess fit and may involve specific performance goals or training. After three months, employees often become eligible for benefits, raises, or contract review.

Job description

About FIXD & AppraisalPRO:
FIXD breaks car problems down into simple and understandable terms, so drivers know the price of a repair when they take their car to the shop. The FIXD Sensor plugs into the diagnostic port of a driver's car and communicates via Bluetooth to the FIXD app.
AppraisalPRO is FIXD's B2B suite of solutions that helps dealerships during the vehicle appraisal process. We detect any problems with trade-in vehicles, provide estimated reconditioning costs for a vehicle, a consumer-facing condition report for use in negotiations, and a comprehensive analytics platform. We are looking for a hungry sales professional with a proven track record as an SDR and/or Account Executive to join our team. The ideal candidate will excel in a high-volume lead flow process to rapidly turn these leads into closed-won opportunities. Create engaging product demos and keep prospects excited to learn more, then take action. This is a full-cycle sales role.

  • Generate and lead new experiments aimed at generating and converting leads
  • Track all activity in Pipedrive (CRM)

Qualifications:

  • Organized, pleasantly persistent
  • High EQ and upbeat personality
  • Motivated self-starter, can work with little supervision, and aims high

Plus:
  • Experience in sales in the franchise or independent car dealership (or related) industry

Benefits
  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision) for you and your family
  • 401k - 5% match
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
  • Training & Development
  • Free Food & Snacks
