Job Description
Job Title: Welder Date: May 2026
Reports To: Weld Lead
Summary
American Fan has an opportunity for a Welder based in our Fairfield, OH facility. In this role, you will be responsible for working with your team and manager to ensure parts are processed according to shop drawings using appropriate welding and measurement equipment. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills and be able to develop binding relationships across all functional areas within the organization, as well with customers and vendors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Fits, tacks, welds mild carbon steel, 304 & 316SS and aluminum
  • Assembles utilizing MIG and TIG Welding equipment as well as a plasma torch
  • Process parts according to shop drawings using appropriate welding and measurement
  • equipment on which they are qualified with minimum supervision.
  • Produce quality parts in a safe and efficient manner with minimal to no spatter.
  • Minimizing scrap.
  • Good housekeeping of equipment and area adjacent to machines to which they use or
  • are assigned, daily.
  • Report to Supervisor any malfunction, damage or need of repair to any equipment of
  • which they become aware.
  • Accurate and diligent processing of any clerical forms such as time sheets, scrap
  • reports, etc.
  • Use required safety equipment and apparel.
  • Passes Navy Tech Pub exam and welds according to standard

Qualifications and Educational Requirements
  • High School / Trade School preferred
  • Minimum 2 years
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring devices
  • Ability to Weld (MIG & TIG) mild steel, 304 & 316SS, aluminum
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to follow directions, safety conscience
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Certified to be a Navy Welder as per Company Qualification Matrix
