Job description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Emergency Security Response: Apply de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques to manage behavioral incidents safely. Assist clinical staff with emergency detention holds and with patients at risk of harm to self or others. Support staff during behavioral emergencies. Escort patients to and from units, intake, or dismissal as directed. Participate in post-incident debriefings with staff and patients when appropriate. Respond to urgent situations such as patient disruptions, environmental safety concerns, or emergency arrivals. Monitor/observe locations involving security concerns.

Policy Enforcement and Public Interaction: Enforce JMH rules and policies through professional interaction with patients, staff, and visitors. Provide guidance and clear direction to others while maintaining professionalism.

Participate in Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance initiatives as directed.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and JMH policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions and JMHโ€™s Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Policy.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: High School Diploma or equivalent required. At least 1 year of relevant experience required (for example: military, Patient Care Tech, first responder, nursing, crisis intervention, self-defense training, law enforcement). Security Guard Training Certification (Certified Protection Officer (CPO), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) preferred.

SCHEDULE:


Varied hours as needed. Must be available for evenings, nights and weekends.
PRN. No guaranteed hours.
