Job description

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BA/BS or equivalent years of combined experience and training.
  • 5+ years of IT experience with 1-2 years of hands on experience working with the technologies listed above.
  • DoD 8570 Certification: IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CISSP, or equivalent).
  • JNCIS-ENT or JNCIS-SEC preferred; specific training in Juniper SSR is highly desirable.
  • Ability to maintain a minimum Secret U.S. government security clearance. TS/SCI Preferred.

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $120,000 to $190,000 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

What will you be doing?
WWT is seeking an SSR Network Engineer who will serve on a team of technical engineers in support of multiple government programs. The ideal candidate will possess good communication, presentation, and writing skills. They will have a proven track record of being a problem solver and team player who is capable of working in a technically challenging environment supporting the Navy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • SSR Implementation: Deploy and manage Juniper Session Smart Routers (SSR) to optimize WAN performance, utilizing tunnel-less architecture to improve bandwidth efficiency and security.
  • Network Operations: Maintain and troubleshoot Junos OS across WAN environment.
  • SD-WAN Management: Configure and refine session-oriented routing policies, service-centric networking, and security-first WAN architectures.
  • Routing Excellence: Administer and optimize core routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and static routing, to maintain path redundancy and low latency.
  • Security & SRX Support: Manage Juniper SRX edge gateways, overseeing stateful firewall policies, IPsec VPNs, and NAT configurations.
  • Network Automation: Familiarity with Ansible for basic configuration management or automated state-checking of Junos devices.
  • Scripting: Basic knowledge of Python or YAML to assist with bulk configuration updates or data parsing.
  • Cloud Integration: Experience connecting on-premises Juniper hardware to AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
