Job description

Summary
You will serve as a Technician in the Undersea Energy Systems Branch; Power and Energy Systems Division; Expeditionary Warfare Weapons and Energy Systems Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER Crane Division.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. NT-05 is equivalent to GS-13/14.
This position is salary capped at GS-13 Step 10 (currently $138,370). See "Additional Information" section.

Duties
Help
  • You will lead and coordinate multiple technical projects as lead for the Submarine Battery Fleet Support Engagement Section.
  • You will provide full spectrum lifecycle support for all Fleet Submarine main storage batteries.
  • You will coordinate acquisition, logistics, performance evaluation, qualification, and safety/abuse testing.
  • You will interface with personnel across the Power and Energy Division, NAVSEA, Program offices, and contracting partners as required.
  • You will work directly with the battery manufacturers to resolve any submarine battery issues.
  • You will work directly with the Submarine Type Commanders and Submarine Squadrons to execute and maintain the Submarine Battery Inspection Program.
  • You will manage up to 15 team members, overseeing all tasking efforts, funding requests, and serving as the primary point of contact for sponsors.
  • You will provide quarterly reviews, and travel to meet with sponsors and vendors on a routine basis.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector leading, planning, or executing electronics technical work in support of warfare system projects, programs, or deliverables to ensure mission objectives are met.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14 grade levels. The salary range shown in the announcement represents all of the positions within the band, including high-grade positions. This is not a high-grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $138,370).
