Engineering Tech For Navair

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.

As our next Engineering Tech supporting NAVAIR, you'll collaborate with talented professionals to create innovative, mission-critical solutions that empower naval aviation and defense operations. Your expertise will help shape cutting-edge systems, enhance national security, and drive technological advancement for our nation.

Responsibilities

  • Work experience in fabricating, using, troubleshooting and maintaining equipment in a naval platform integration laboratory environment
  • Significant electronics experience with troubleshooting, replacement, and repair of discrete and integrated components
  • Ability to use standard equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes
  • Ability to operate mission systems and support equipment
  • Maintain configuration management of lab assets
  • General knowledge of test and evaluation techniques
  • Able to perform maintenance (both preventative and corrective) of lab systems
  • Ability to understand and quickly utilize aircraft wiring diagrams
  • Knowledge of proper aircraft wiring rules and techniques as taught in Navy A/B/C-schools, or equivalent, and / or IPC certification
  • Ability to quickly find and follow procedures for operation of all mission and support equipment; especially NATOPs manuals
  • Available to travel (no more than 10%) to participate in remote support activities at geographically distant lab facilities or provide Fleet support where assets may be located
  • Assist with lab security requirements (physical security and COMSEC)
  • Able to lift and move heavy equipment and work in confined spaces
  • Able to use basic office productivity software

Qualifications

  • Must have active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • High School diploma and 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Wire bundle/Connector/Fiber Optic/Troubleshooting cable experience highly desired.
  • DoD airframe/avionics and testing experience preferred.
  • Familiar with AS9100/ISO9000 standards.

Wage Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $80,000.00/Yr. - USD $120,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
