Job description

Operations Manager

Rainbow Blossom was started in 1977 by Rob and Pumpkin Auerbach and is now led by their daughter, Summer Auerbach. We're proud to have been part of the Louisville community for nearly five decades. Our mission is to be a resource for improving the quality of life for ourselves, our community, and our company.

We are a values-driven organization that supports health, wellness, and individuality. We hire people from all walks of life and aim to create a workplace that is professional, supportive, and meaningful. The way we work matters just as much as what we do, and we look for people who reflect that in how they show up every day.

Position Overview

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of all Rainbow Blossom stores. This role partners closely with Store Managers and the Blossom Bar General Manager to build strong teams, create consistent operations, and ensure every location delivers an exceptional customer experience.

This is a highly visible leadership role focused on coaching, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. You'll work across departments to develop leaders, improve processes, solve problems, and ensure every location is positioned for long-term success.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, coach, and develop Store Managers and the Blossom Bar General Manager
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with managers on staffing, labor management, scheduling, and operational planning
  • Improve store performance through coaching, operational consistency, and problem-solving
  • Ensure stores consistently deliver excellent customer service and maintain company standards
  • Oversee training and leadership development across all locations
  • Support inventory accuracy through audits, cycle counts, and bi-annual physical inventories
  • Lead operational initiatives that improve efficiency, communication, and execution
  • Oversee facility maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Work closely with the Owner and leadership team to execute company goals and strategic initiatives

The right person for this role is someone who enjoys developing people and improving operations. You naturally build trust, hold others accountable, and create structure that helps teams succeed. You stay calm under pressure, make thoughtful decisions, and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves to support stores when needed.

We're looking for someone who reflects how we work every day. Skills matter, but how you show up matters just as much!

Customer Centric – You create an outstanding experience for customers through strong store execution and leadership.

Collaborative – You build relationships across departments and work alongside others to solve problems.

Resourceful – You identify opportunities, think critically, and find practical solutions.

Engaged – You take ownership, lead by example, and follow through on commitments.

Positive – You bring energy, encourage others, and focus on solutions.

Reliable – You are dependable, consistent, and hold yourself and others accountable.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of management experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and accountability, along with 5+ years of grocery retail experience. Strong knowledge of retail operations, labor management, inventory control, merchandising, budgeting, pricing, and financial performance is required. Experience developing leaders, improving operational processes, and driving results across multiple locations is strongly preferred. Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills are essential.

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position reporting directly to the Owner. The role is primarily in-person and includes regular travel between store locations. Occasional evening and weekend work is expected.

We offer PTO, medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), paid holidays, and an employee discount.

Rainbow Blossom is an Equal Opportunity Employer. This description reflects the general nature of the role and may evolve as business needs change.
