The Senior Engineer will be based at DPFNA’s Westlake Village headquarters, providing onsite application support for DPFNA and DPFEU while driving governance and stewardship of WWPF’s global Business Intelligence platforms. We’re seeking a platform-agnostic engineer with 5 - 8 years’ experience who will own and deliver enterprise-grade user experiences by combining hands-on UX design leadership with production frontend engineering, enabling workflow, analytics, and real-time conversational experiences across devices in a cloud-native OpenStack environment.

The role designs scalable data architecture, multi device portability adaptive UX for different content types. maintainable solutions that avoid technology debt and can be executed on any platform or technology required to deliver business value globally. This engineer will think innovatively and constantly be seeking to challenge and improve overall application building and deployment for user centric workflows, analytics, agentic conversation and be part of the larger Innovation group delivering critical business solutions across the enterprise covering Finance, Supply Chain, CRM, Manufacturing, Marketing etc. This position requires a person that has a mindset of continuous integration and continuous delivery to meet the needs of the large global corporation.

This role is defined as “Locally Remote.” Locally Remote employees must be located within a reasonable commute of our Westlake Village, CA office and able to come to the office in-person as needed with 24-hour advanced notice (no travel reimbursement).


Primary Accountabilities:

Frontend Engineering & Application Development

A. Experience strategy & UX leadership (not just screen design)

  • Own the experience outcomes (usability, time-to-complete, error rate, adoption) for workflow and analytics journeys (create → review → approve, case management, exceptions).
  • Turn business requirements into interaction models that scale across personas (operators, analysts, approvers, admins).
  • Create multi-device patterns (desktop-first for complex workflows, responsive adaptations for tablet/mobile, and progressive disclosure for smaller screens).
  • Lead/partner on design system governance: components, tokens, accessibility, and interaction standards; ensure consistent application across products.

B. Frontend architecture & engineering ownership

  • Design and build modular, reusable UI components with maintainability/performance as first-class requirements.  
  • Own frontend app architecture: routing, state management, API integration, error handling, and scalable patterns for large enterprise apps.  
  • Drive refactoring and reduction of frontend tech debt without regression; establish patterns for evolving legacy code safely.  
  • Build UI frameworks for:
    • Workflow UIs (queues, tasks, approvals, audit trails, role-based actions)
    • Analytics UIs (filters, drilldowns, charts, anomaly views, explainability panels)
    • Real-time conversational/agentic UIs (chat + artifacts: citations, actions, suggested next steps, session history, “handoff to human”, live status)

C.  Delivery excellence (quality, reliability, observability)

  • Ensure production readiness: performance budgets, accessibility, cross-browser support, resiliency patterns, feature flags, graceful degradation.
  • Define and implement frontend testing strategy (unit/integration/e2e), and release confidence practices. 
  • Collaborate in agile with backend/QA/product; participate in code reviews and engineering improvement.  
  • Thorough security and compliance standards on UX to strengthen trapping bad behavior and encouraging secure interaction with applications

D. Platform & deployment (cloud-native, OpenStack-aligned)

  • Deliver apps in cloud-based enterprise environments and support post-release operations (bug fixes, incremental enhancements).  
  • Partner with platform teams to ensure:
    • correct containerization / runtime assumptions
    • config management (env vars, secrets)
    • ingress/LB, TLS, caching/CDN patterns (as applicable internally)
    • logging/metrics/tracing for UI + API calls
    • build scalable patterns that can be reused across Finance / Supply Chain / CRM / Manufacturing / Marketing experiences

Experience, Knowledge, & Skills You Bring:

Required

  • 5 – 8 Years of UI/UX Application development experience.
  • Hands-on experience developing frontend applications using React.js and modern JavaScript (ES6+), including functional components and hooks.
  • Strong foundation in HTML5 and CSS3, with experience building responsive, production-ready user interfaces.
  • Experience working with API-driven applications, including asynchronous data handling and error scenarios.
  • Practical experience implementing client-side routing and navigation patterns.
  • Proven ability to work within and improve existing frontend codebases.
  • Understanding of application state management concepts.
  • Proficiency with Git-based version control, including pull requests and collaborative workflows.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills using browser developer tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile engineering environment.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with UI frameworks or component libraries such as Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, or Material UI.
  • Exposure to enterprise SaaS or cloud platforms, including SAP BTP or similar ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with frontend performance optimization techniques such as code splitting and memorization.
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts (SSO, OAuth, role-based access).
  • Experience working on workflow-heavy or data-driven applications.
  • Exposure to automated testing frameworks for frontend applications.
