Responsibilities

Purchasing Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Primary Responsibility: The Purchasing Manager is responsible for all materials replenishment, scheduling of all materials and other associated purchasing activities as well as supervising and managing the stockroom. Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to determine supply needs
  • Purchase chemicals, repair parts, packaging, and supplies according to specifications
  • Create necessary purchase orders, ensure pricing accuracy and keep detailed records on procurement activity
  • Assure adherence to corporate contracts
  • Coordinate and supervise receiving and warehousing procedures
  • Oversee distribution of supplies within the facility
  • Control inventory levels to ensure availability of necessary items
  • Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers as appropriate
  • Assist in forecasting to plan and execute future orders
  • Assure timely cycle counting and maintain book-to-physical inventory accuracy
  • Maintain a clean and organized purchasing and storeroom wok environment
  • Interact with operations, maintenance and accounting on projects
  • Daily and weekly usage reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

This is a safety sensitive position.  This is an on-site position.

Qualifications

Qualified Candidates for the Purchasing Manager position should possess the following:

  • Fundamental reading, writing and arithmetic skills required
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery (2 to 5 years of manufacturing experience is preferred)
  • Knowledge of chemicals and supplies
  • Conceptual/Analytical thinking
  • Attention to detail
  • Adept at problem solving
  • Leadership and supervisory skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Self-motivated and self-starter
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Experience with ERP systems (BPCS) and Microsoft Office - proficiency is a plus
