National Pump Company, a Gorman-Rupp Company

National Pump Company is seeking an Applications Engineer I to join our Customer Service team. This position provides technical application support, quotation development, and customer assistance for pump systems and related equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, sales representatives, engineering, production, and operations teams to deliver accurate technical solutions and exceptional customer service.


What You'll Do

  • Provide technical application support and engineering assistance for pump systems and related equipment.
  • Review customer specifications and application requirements to recommend appropriate product solutions.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, technical documentation, submittals, and related customer materials.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Customer Service teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Support order processing by transitioning awarded quotations into sales orders and assisting projects through completion.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and provide technical support to customers and internal personnel.
  • Maintain accurate technical records, quotations, customer documentation, and engineering files.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, distributors, sales representatives, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Develop knowledge of company products, pump systems, engineering applications, and industry standards.


Qualifications

  • Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in pump applications, industrial equipment, engineering support, technical sales, customer service, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand engineering applications and product specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, engineering specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business software systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with pump systems, industrial equipment, ERP systems, or engineered-to-order products is a plus.
