Job description

SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the facilities. The Maintenance Manager supervises the Maintenance team to ensure all plant maintenance processes and operations goals are met or exceeded.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop methods and strategies to capitalize on efforts to improve up time. Create and implement maintenance procedures and plan and manage all repair and installation activities. Maintain, manage, and prioritize all daily work orders through our CMMS system, including labor, parts and work hours.
  2. Maintain machinery, plan repair activities, and develop maintenance procedures to ensure working standards are met. Supervise and lead plant maintenance processes and operations.
  3. Track expenses and oversee the maintenance budget.
  4. Develop strong and productive business relationships with suppliers and other internal and external business partners.
  5. Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and provide proactive support/solutions when required. Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.
  6. Provide frequent on-site monitoring, auditing and enforcement of maintenance execution and safe work practices.
  7. Ensure all department employees adhere to the safety policies and procedures. Institute and audit training drills across the plant.
  8. Manage performance of and provide coaching, feedback and development plans to the Maintenance team to ensure individual, department and company goals are met or exceeded.
  9. Other duties as assigned by management to support company initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of technical skills to include but not limited to welding, fabrication, mill or lathe work, electrical skills, plumbing skills and comprehension of diagrams.
  2. Working knowledge of production support system within a manufacturing environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, business partners, plant personnel, and others.
  5. Strong leadership ability, able to mentor and gain trust at all levels and manage, direct, coach, develop, and engage a team.
  6. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions, with a focus on continuous improvement and a drive for results. Continuous improvement focused.
  7. Able to understand and effectively use computerized business systems and other technology and platforms.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Some college or technical schooling or equivalent experience required.
  2. 10+ years of maintenance management experience in a plant environment dealing with preventative and predictive maintenance, preferably in the metals, steel. Or other related heavy industry.
  3. Must have steel tube mill experience.
  4. Experience providing technical guidance and development of maintenance work force.
  1. Experience working with PLC's, motor controls, sensors, limit switches and electro/mechanical systems, and 3-phase 480v equipment.
  1. Experience in preventative maintenance and lean manufacturing.
