Job Purpose
The role holder is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of LNG facility equipment. This is achieved through the effective supervision and coordination of assigned operations personnel and contractors to complete tasks in alignment with departmental standards and National Grid requirements
Key Accountabilities
  • Schedule plant shift personnel in order to provide timely, reliable, and efficient peak shaving requirements.
  • Oversee the operational workload of the supervised team, directing activities of allocated staff to ensure proper and timely maintenance of plant facilities against agreed program of work.
  • Supervise a culturally diverse workforce through coaching, counseling and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in an efficient manner.
  • Communicate maintenance, operating and training information as well as changes to procedures and plant equipment to relevant stakeholders as necessary in order to ensure that records are contemporary and accurate.
  • Ensure supervised team comply with safety standards, policies and processes in order to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant regulations by providing up to date information on National Grid policies, processes and programs to regulatory bodies.
  • Support junior team members as necessary.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in utility operations, mechanical systems, instrumentation and controls, or operational leadership.
  • Experience leading operations and maintenance teams, including union personnel, with a demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and improve team performance preferred.
  • Strong communication, consultation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to provide clear technical and operational direction.
  • Ability to successfully complete company-sponsored LNG operations, operator, firefighting, security, HAZMAT, first aid, OSHA, and other required qualification training.
  • Ability to develop and deliver technical training on plant equipment and support systems.
  • Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics and developing parts, conduit, and cable schedules for LNG facility equipment.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Strong knowledge of plant operating procedures, safety standards, and safe work practices.
  • Must participate in emergency response activities and be available to respond to plant emergencies and unplanned operational events as needed.
