Location: Elko, NV
Reports To: Supply Chain Manager


Position OverviewNational is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Supervisor to lead warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and the distribution of equipment and parts. Reporting to the Field Services Manager, this role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, cost control, and service reliability while managing warehouse and yard personnel in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Supervise, coach, and develop warehouse and yard personnel to achieve performance targets.
  • Establish clear KPIs (productivity, accuracy, safety) and hold the team accountable.
  • Lead daily operations meetings and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Improve employee engagement, retention, and cross-training initiatives.


Inventory & Logistics Management:

  • Oversee end-to-end inventory lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, availability, and traceability.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support operations while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Improve inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and system controls.
  • Coordinate inbound/outbound logistics.


Vendor Relations & Procurement:

  • Communicate with suppliers, negotiate pricing, and optimize procurement strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Negotiate pricing and optimize procurement strategies, reducing costs.
  • Monitor vendor performance using metrics such as on-time delivery and quality.
  • Identify alternative sourcing strategies to mitigate supply risk.


Operational Efficiency & Continuous Improvement:

  • Implement strategies and lead initiatives to proactively reduce inefficiencies, improve turnaround times, and order fulfillment rates.
  • Analyze workflows to identify bottlenecks and implement lean process improvements.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency.


Material Handling & Distribution:

  • Optimize warehouse layout for efficiency, safety, and throughput.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of materials and equipment.
  • Coordinate transportation schedules to meet project and customer deadlines.
  • Minimize material damage, loss, and handling inefficiencies.


ERP System & Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Utilize ERP system to manage inventory, procurement, and logistics.
  • Track and analyze key metrics such as inventory turnover, fill rate, and lead times.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Leverage data insights to forecast demand and improve planning accuracy.


Safety, Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA / MSHA and company standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, training, and incident investigations.
  • Mitigate risks related to supply disruptions, inventory shortages, and logistics delays.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse environment.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years in purchasing, warehouse management, inventory control, or logistics.
  • 1+ year in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience with ERP and inventory management systems.
  • Strong background working with mechanical parts and systems.
  • Experience with tools, machinery, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and/or diesel systems preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 100 lbs. and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts)
