Job description

Job Overview:
The Laboratory Operations Program Manager oversees laboratory operations, programs, and strategic initiatives to ensure safe, efficient, compliant, and high-quality performance. This role manages laboratory resources, budgets, equipment, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional projects while supporting organizational objectives. This is an onsite position located near Winter Garden, Florida.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Lead day-to-day laboratory operations and program execution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage laboratory budgets, equipment, inventory, and vendor relationships.
  • Oversee facility, maintenance, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Track performance metrics and drive process improvements.
  • Support audits, inspections, and corrective action programs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve business and operational goals.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or related field.
  • 10-15+ years of laboratory operations, program management, or related experience
  • Experience managing large federal technical contracts (DoD, DOE, NASA)
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory safety, compliance, and quality systems.
  • Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, resources, and cross-functional teams.
  • Local candidates near Winter Garden FL only will be considered.

Preferred:
  • PMP certification and/or advanced degree.
  • Prior experience with NASA laboratory operations.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma, LIMS, or regulated laboratory environments.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $130K to $160K per year. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
