General Summary
The Front Desk Assistant (FDA) is primarily responsible for providing customer service to Residence Life residents, guests, parents, families, college faculty, staff, and other officials. The FDA provides administrative support through the 24-hour service desk and assists in maintaining the safety and security of the residence hall facilities. The Front Desk Assistant's work schedule will vary to maintain the 24-hour desk operation. Front Desk Assistants will be required to work a minimum of one three-hour shift per week between 12:00 AM - 9:00 AM. The Front Desk Assistant is a member of the Residence Life Student Staff supervised by Residence Life & Student Life Professional Staff.
Specific Position Duties
  • Provide customer service in person, and via phone through the 24-hour front desk.
  • Sort and distribute mail and packages to residents.
  • Issue Residence Life equipment such as carts, game room supplies, etc.
  • Communicate appropriately with residents, guests, and college faculty/staff.
  • Utilize college systems necessary for the operation of the residential facilities, such as FreshService (Work Order Software) and Maxient (Conduct Software)•
  • Assist with Lockouts, Room Checks, Room Change Requests, and Check-In/Out of Residents.•
  • Assist with Residence Life Events if necessary.
  • Attend and participate in Drive to Success Events.
  • Attend all required meetings, including staff and individual meetings with the supervisor.
  • Assist with enforcement of Residence Life Policies, including Guest Policy, Quiet Hours, Curfew, and other safety regulations.
  • Assist with administrative tasks of daily operations of the facilities.
