To thrive as a NASA Contractor, you typically need a solid background in science, engineering, or technology, often supported by a relevant degree and professional experience in the aerospace or related industries. Familiarity with industry-specific tools such as CAD software, project management systems, and possibly security clearances (ITAR, DoD clearance) is valuable. These capabilities are essential to ensure the highest levels of performance, compliance, and innovation in NASA's demanding and mission-critical projects.

What does a NASA contractor do?

As a NASA Contractor, you may work on a wide range of projects including spacecraft design, mission analysis, software development, or research in support of ongoing NASA missions. Daily responsibilities can include collaborating with NASA engineers and scientists, attending project meetings, writing technical documentation, and ensuring adherence to strict quality and compliance standards.
