Job Description

The primary objective of a Metro Engineering Technician is to provide disposition support for any wafers on hold in metrology area, recipe setup support for all metrology tool sets such as FIB, HTSEM, VSEM, AFM, Nano etc, supporting Metro Engineering requests/projects during off shift.  This person will play a significant role in the areas of supporting production Cycle time and WIP move by taking care of metro related issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Metro Engineering team in the Metro area and assist manufacturing with wafer disposition and overall production flow.
  • Follow Metro Engineer instructions to set up, modify, and maintain metro recipes.
  • Support qualification and operation of metro tools, including FIB, HTSEM, VSEM, AFM, KLA and Nano etc.
  • Identify and troubleshoot any metro related issues impacting output or product quality.
  • Analyze defect or abnormal data from FIB, HTSEM, VSEM, AFM and Nano and take first-line actions to troubleshoot any metro related issues.
  • Recommend, document, and implement metro recipes or improvements under the direction of the Metro Engineer
Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of metrology tools such as FIB, HTSEM, VSEM, AFM, KLA and Nano.
  • Working experience with manufacturing systems such as MESA, MITECS, CAMSTAR, SPOTFIRE, SPECDB, or similar applications.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools such as SQL, JMP, or similar query/analysis platforms.
  • Solid problem-solving, troubleshooting, and computer skills with the ability to address minor process and equipment issues.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to quickly learn and apply new knowledge.

PREFERRED:

  • Associate degree or higher with 3+ years hands on experience.
  • Semiconductor/data storage wafer process experience is a plus
  • Any Metrology experience in  AFM, FIB, HTSEM, VSEM, Nano is a plus

Salary Range: $84,200.00-112,300.00

  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
  • If your position is non-exempt, you are eligible for overtime pay pursuant to company policy and applicable laws.  You may also be eligible for shift differential pay, depending on the shift to which you are assigned.
  • You will be eligible to be considered for bonuses under either WD's Short Term Incentive Plan ("STI Plan") or the Sales Incentive Plan ("SIP") which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance, depending on your role and your performance.
