Job description

We have a need to support our client with a Network Technician who is comfortable performing production‑level device configuration and testing by following established work instructions and processes. The position is execution‑focused and does not require design or architecture responsibilities.

Job Description

The Network Technician is responsible for performing logical configuration, basic testing, and quality checks on networking and related hardware in a production environment. This role works under the direction of engineering and production leadership and follows clearly documented procedures to ensure devices are built accurately and consistently.

The Network Technician works cross‑functionally within the Supply Chain and Production organizations and reports directly to a Production Supervisor.

Essential Functions

  • Perform configuration and testing of networking, wireless, and telecommunications devices based on provided work instructions
  • Execute OS loads, firmware upgrades, and license installation per customer standards
  • Configure and test devices such as routers, switches, wireless access points, and related network equipment
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of configuration or logical issues using documented processes
  • Capture configuration data, QC records, and testing results accurately in required systems
  • Conduct quality checks and physical audits of equipment and accessories
  • Use established tools to track work status and progress
  • Follow engineering documentation, network design documents, and rack elevations as provided
  • Escalate issues appropriately when work instructions are unclear or errors are identified
  • Provide feedback to improve documentation and production processes

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 2–4 years of experience in a network technician, data center technician, or similar production‑focused role
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (routing, switching, basic wireless concepts)
  • Experience configuring network devices using documented procedures
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions with a high degree of accuracy and consistency
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify when to escalate issues
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, production environment
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work volumes
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Juniper experience preferred

Ability to meet these requirements may be necessary for continued employment, depending on needs of the department.
