Maintenance Supervisor - comm'l heat treat; 2nd shift

The general responsibilities of the maintenance manager are to lead production 2nd shift, maintain procedures, programs and systems. The Production Manager will champion teams in Lean system and training of these systems.You will watch over and organizes daily production and manage the day to day tactical planning of the production departments. As the Production Manager, you will be responsible for production employees, and shift supervisors. You will manage the throughput and efficiency, to make sure the plant is running smoothly, quickly, efficiently and safely. Must communicate with other departments or parts of the plant not under their control to make sure everything runs smoothly and on time. As the Production Manager you will have a key role in the success and profitability of our organization and be a key member of the management team. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Review and adjust the schedule where needed
  • Manage human and material resources to meet production targets and company KPI's
  • Work out and implement standard operating procedures for production
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures, health and safety procedures are adhered to
  • Capable of root cause analyses on production detect and corrective actions
  • Determine and implement improvements to the production process using Lean tools
  • Monitor and review the performance of supervisors and employees and organize necessary interventions for improvement
  • Understand ITAR and NADCAP quality systems and standards
  • Drive health,safety and state/federal compliance requirements
  • Basic knowledge of human resource principles
  • Will use leadership and organizational skills on a daily basis.Skilled at conflict management and tactical planning
  • Daily use of Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP systems
  • Driving the shift with Lean and 5S improvements, KPI standards, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Will planning and organizing production on a daily, weekly.
  • Able to withstand a high tolerance to stress, must be the calm in the storm 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervisors and manages all 2nd shift production staff. Directly supervises shift supervisors and employees in Endo / Aluminum, Metal Finishing, Shipping & Receiving, Vacuum / Salt and Maintenance. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employee; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor's degree in business administration or High School Education, and ten years production manager experience manufacturing plant. Minimum of five years' experience in the metal industry.five years working in a manufacturing environment with Lean manufacturing and 5S.
