Job description

Description:

The Director, Key Account Management leads Studio I and is responsible for the full proposal lifecycle from CRM triggered activation through submission and interview. This role owns NAC's content engineering standards, awards program strategy and the development of an AI assisted proposal production system that progressively reduces manual effort while increasing quality and speed. The director works at the intersection of business development, content strategy and technology, building the infrastructure that gives NAC principals every possible advantage in a competitive pursuit.

Core Responsibilities

Proposal Production and Engineering: Manages the complete proposal lifecycle from CRM activation through final submission. Assigns Proposal Champions, coordinates content retrieval from OpenAsset, oversees design production and enforces submission deadlines across all offices and practice areas.

AI Ready Content Architecture: Owns the organization of all NAC technical and creative content in OpenAsset under a growth focused, LLM accessible hierarchy. Ensures every project record, staff profile and technical narrative is tagged, searchable and structured for AI assisted retrieval and proposal assembly.

LLM Augmented Proposal Development: Leads the long term development of an LLM assisted proposal system that draws from structured OpenAsset content, reduces manual assembly time and progressively limits staffing requirements to engineering oversight. Evaluates and implements proposal technology platforms and AI tools.

Awards Strategy and Coordination: Develops and executes NAC's annual awards strategy covering which markets, project types and staff recognitions to pursue, managing all submission workflows for project, staff, company and industry awards in alignment with Studio II brand and market positioning goals.

Interview Preparation: Prepares Proposal Champions and pursuit teams for shortlist interviews using current presentation technology, visual storytelling tools and structured rehearsal programs. Develops tailored interview materials for each pursuit context.

Content Standards and Quality: Develops and enforces NAC's proposal content standards covering narrative structure, staff biography formats, cover letter architecture and visual presentation consistency, and conducts post submission win/loss analysis in coordination with Studio III.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field required. Master's degree preferred. In lieu of degree, 10 or more years of directly relevant experience in AEC proposal management and content strategy will be considered.

• 6 or more years of experience in AEC proposal coordination, content engineering or marketing management with demonstrated leadership of proposal teams and production workflows.

• Proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous pursuits across practice areas and geographic offices under deadline pressure.

• Experience with OpenAsset, Salesfrce or other CRM, InDesign or equivalent content and project management platforms. Familiarity with AI assisted content tools and LLM workflows strongly preferred.

• Strong written communication skills with demonstrated ability to develop and enforce content standards across a team.

• Experience developing and executing awards programs and shortlist interview preparation preferred.
