NETA 3 - Field Supervisor

Shamrock Consulting

Boise, ID โ€ข On-site

Per diem

Posted 18 days ago

Job description

Shamrock Business Consulting is working with an electrical testing contractor to find a NETA Level 3 Field Supervisor.

You will run acceptance and maintenance testing crews in the field. Scheduling, technical direction, safety, and the quality of what leaves the site are yours. You are the senior technical authority on the job and the person the client calls when something does not test right.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

? Lead field crews on acceptance and maintenance testing projects across data center, industrial, utility, and commercial work

? Serve as the senior technical resource on site — direct testing sequences, troubleshoot failures, and make the pass/fail call

? Plan and schedule crew assignments, equipment, and test set logistics

? Own job-site safety, including energized work permits, LOTO, arc flash boundaries, and PPE compliance per NFPA 70E

? Perform and oversee testing across protective relays, circuit breakers, switchgear, power and instrument transformers, cable, grounding, and rotating machinery

? Conduct primary and secondary injection testing and coordinate relay settings with engineers of record

? Review and approve NETA test reports before they go to the client

? Serve as the day-to-day client contact on site and manage scope changes in the field

? Mentor Level 1 and Level 2 technicians and sign off on their progression

? Coordinate with GCs, electrical contractors, commissioning agents, and owner representatives through startup and energization

? Track job costs, labor hours, and equipment against the estimate

WHAT YOU BRING

? NETA Level 3 certification, current and in good standing. Level 4 also welcome

? Five or more years of field testing experience, including time directing crews

? Hands-on experience through medium voltage; high voltage a plus

? Proficiency with major test sets — Doble, Megger, Omicron, AVO, Vanguard, Phenix, or equivalent

? Working knowledge of NETA ATS and MTS, NFPA 70E, and applicable NEC and IEEE standards

? Ability to read and interpret one-lines, schematics, relay logic, and control wiring diagrams

? Comfortable troubleshooting energized systems and making decisions under schedule pressure

? Valid driver's license and clean driving record

? Willing to travel, with per diem

? Able to pass a background check and drug screen; DOE or clearance eligibility a plus

WHY THIS ROLE

NETA Level 3 technicians who can actually run a crew are rare. Plenty of people test well; far fewer can direct a job, handle a client, and hold a schedule at the same time. If you are already doing supervisor work without the title or the pay behind it, this corrects both.
