Job Overview

The Production Manager plays a key role in executing assigned Production tasks. This includes monitoring status of all assigned plant operations with a focus on safety, quality, production efficiency and keep plant leadership appraised of any changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for complying with GMPs, SOPs, corporate and/or plant policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Monitor status of all assigned plant operations with a focus on safety, quality, production efficiency and keep plant leadership appraised of any changes. 
  • Direct and coordinate work activities of all department employees. 
  • Evaluate job performances of all direct reports and set goals that are measurable and attainable; provide feedback daily; Make Human Resource related decisions. 
  • Provide leadership for effective employee relations through positive communication, coaching, training, problem resolution/corrective actions, and floor time. 
  • Develop and ensure SOPs are documented, trained-to, adhered-to, and annually reviewed and followed by staff for production related responsibilities. 
  • Look for ways to reduce or eliminate down time. Help identify constraints in the production process and look for ways to correct them. 
  • Monitor production runs for efficiency by measuring and documenting using statistical process control. 
  • Monitor and ensure quality standards set by the company for all the products being tested. 
  • Operate Filling and Packaging equipment independently and as needed. 
  • Provide recommendations and implement improvements to increase operating efficiency by working with outside vendors. 
  • Utilize continuous improvement mindset; assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes. 
  • Monitor and ensure compliance to all OSHA, NYS A&M, PMO, FDA, SQF, USPH, and EEOC requirements. 
  • Lead direct reports by example.
  • Promote a safe and harmonious work environment and adherence to company policy and procedures. 
  • Foster an “open door” policy for all employees to maintain an open line of communication between direct reports and management staff. 
  • Maintain compliance with S.Q.F. certification. 
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
  • Responsible for ensuring direct reports assigned duties and responsibilities are covered during planned and unplanned absence from work, including acting as a backup as necessary.
  • Ensures work areas are sanitary and strictly adheres to sanitation practices.
  • Communicates effectively between shifts and other departments.
  • All other duties assigned by leadership.

Min. Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business Administration or related field preferred or equivalent related experience.
  • Direct or related experience of 3 or more years.
