Job description

The Company:

MV Power Solutions is a Denver Metro-based electrical contractor known for delivering high-quality commercial projects with precision and reliability. They’ve built strong, trusted relationships with general contractors by doing what they say they will — on time and on budget.

Over the last 12 years, they’ve grown to nearly 100 employees and generated roughly $25M in revenue last year, with nearly 90% of their work coming from repeat customers. Their reputation has been built through consistency, accountability, professionalism, and a commitment to doing quality work the right way.

As they continue to grow, MV Power Solutions is looking for a Chief Estimator / Pre-Construction Manager to lead and evolve their estimating function while serving as a key strategic partner to both the field and leadership teams.

The Position:

The Chief Estimator / Pre-Construction Manager will lead the estimating department while playing a critical role in driving new business, strengthening GC relationships, and helping position MV Power Solutions to win profitable work.

This person will oversee the full estimating and pre-construction process — from analyzing drawings and preparing detailed estimates to collaborating with vendors, project managers, and field teams to develop winning strategies. They’ll bring both leadership and execution, helping cultivate a high-performing estimating department while ensuring projects are handed off seamlessly into construction.

The right person is technically strong, relationship-oriented, highly communicative, and energized by building systems, mentoring others, and contributing to a positive, team-first culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the estimating department
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors and industry partners
  • Analyze drawings and specifications for commercial electrical projects
  • Prepare detailed take-offs using Accubid, Live Count, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
  • Develop accurate and competitive electrical cost estimates
  • Review and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotations
  • Present breakout pricing, value engineering ideas, and proposal details to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with project management and field teams to ensure smooth project turnover
  • Work proactively with vendors, GCs, and installation teams to develop strategies that help win projects
  • Contribute to bidding goals and overall estimating performance
  • Maintain high-level communication throughout the pre-construction process
  • Support and strengthen MV Power Solutions’ positive, accountable, and collaborative culture

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of electrical estimating experience preferred
  • Leadership or department oversight experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of commercial electrical construction and pre-construction processes
  • Experience using Accubid, Live Count, Bluebeam, or similar estimating software
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on in execution
  • Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with operations, field, and executive leadership

Salary + Benefits:

  • Base salary: $140,000–180,000 + bonus potential
  • 3 weeks PTO + paid holidays starting Day 1
  • 50% employer-paid medical insurance for employee
  • Dental and vision insurance options available
  • 401(k) with up to 3.5% employer match
  • Professional development and paid education opportunities
  • Referral program
  • Opportunity to help shape and lead a growing estimating function within a respected and relationship-driven organization
