About the Role

Equitable is looking for a Regional Vice President (External Wholesaler) for Equitable Investment Management who will lead business development efforts across the Southeast territory, covering Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. This role is responsible for cultivating and strengthening consultative relationships with existing and prospective advisors affiliated with National, Regional, and Insurance Broker Dealers. Through a disciplined sales approach, strategic territory management, and deep investment expertise, the Regional Vice President will drive asset growth, increase market share, identify new opportunities, and position Equitable Investment Management as a preferred investment partner.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Educate and train advisors on Equitable Investment Management model portfolios and 1290 Funds family of mutual funds.

  • Assess and identify the needs of advisor clients in order to promote new products.

  • Develop new producers while retaining existing producers to grow market share.

  • Develop new relationships. Responsible for territory management.

  • Utilize internal sales desk to assist in managing territory.  Work with and train Internal Wholesaler to work collaboratively with RVP.

  • Use Salesforce (CRM) to log activity, maintain pipeline, and analyze opportunities.

  • Candidate must be able to identify, create and implement investment sales opportunities to attain stated sales goals.

  • Candidate will be responsible for communication with National Sales Manager on an ongoing basis.

  • Managing a budget and timely expense reporting

  • Develop new producers while retaining existing producers to grow market share of 1290 Funds.

  • Maintain sales goals. Candidate must be able to identify, create and implement investment fund and MPS model sales opportunities.

  • Knowledge of territory management practices, tools, and techniques; ability to manage and maximize investment business for multiple geographical areas.

  • Educate and train advisors on 1290 Funds investment products.

  • Managing a budget and timely expense reporting.

  • Travel required 75% of time.

This position offers a remote work arrangement plus 75% travel for business needs. Periodic office visits may be requested based on business needs.


The base salary for this position is $85,000. This role is eligible for variable compensation.

What You Will Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • FINRA Series 6 and 63 registrations active upon hire
  • FINRA Series 7 registration active, or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire
  • Knowledge of Mutual Funds and Investment products - previous direct sales experience.

  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships, deliver effective presentations, and communicate complex investment concepts clearly.

  • Proven organization skills balancing between computer, mobile device and other equipment.

  • Willingness to travel 75%.

  • Must be located within the territory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in local area market

  • CIMA, CFP, CFA or equivalent designations

Strategic Sales Planning: Knowledge of sales principles, processes, techniques and tools; ability to develop sales plans that are future-oriented, support business strategy and reflect understanding of emerging, as well as existing, opportunities and markets.
