Job description

Yamaha is seeking a rock star Quality Inspector responsible for checking and setting up guitars and basses, and making sure products adhere to global specifications and function properly. The Quality Inspector will ensure that electric guitars, electric basses and acoustic guitars are set up properly and display the desired playability while also conducting a visual inspection and electronic tests. This position is temporary & is based in Elwood, IL.
Here's What You'll Do
  • Inspect and evaluate new and returned guitars and adjust to factory specifications
  • Make all necessary adjustments to improve products playability, ensuring that all guitars are received in the proper cosmetic condition as ordered, and the appropriate included accessories are included in the box
  • Must ensure products adhere to factory guidelines.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table
  • High School Diploma plus 3 years related experience, strong understanding how to properly setup a guitar, buff small finish flaws and test electronics.
  • Strong ability to identify guitar quality issues quickly and efficiently
  • Understanding how the guitar was constructed and the materials and methods used that construction
  • Must be proficient in guitar repair/setup and have a thorough knowledge of musical equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Must be detail-oriented and focused on the task at hand
  • Proactive with thinking about better, more efficient ways to complete tasks

Compensation:
  • $18.00 to $20.00/hour
