We are currently looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our growing, progressive, and collaborative work environment. This is a day shift position and will work on-site daily at our ProMark facility in Houston, TX. Candidate must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.  The Maintenance Mechanic repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturers specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment (motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, spindle drives, etc.), and production machines / equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing equipment. This position will report to the Facilities and Safety Manager.

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and troubleshoots location of problems.
  • Dismantles equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hand tools, and power tools.
  • Examines form and textures of materials to detect imperfections.
  • Inspects parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using multi meters, RPM gauges, hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Repairs or replaces defective electro/mechanical devices using hand tools, and power tools.
  • Powers up equipment to verify functionality / performance to specification.
  • Lubricates / cleans / adjusts /replaces parts in accordance to Preventative Maintenance sheets and schedules.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electrical problems using schematics, wire lists, I/O lists, etc. to locate and repair equipment control system problems.
  • Sets up and operates Lathes, milling machine, drill press, grinders and other metal working equipment to repair parts.
  • Assist with keeping the shop clean.
  • Assist in keeping proper inventory of parts.

  • Knowledge of PLC control systems and digital electronic equipment a plus.
  • Familiarity with hand / power tools, micrometers, calipers, RPM gauges, tension gauges, multi meters, amp meters, etc.
  • Basic operation of all D'Addario mfg. production winding, flattening, grinding, polishing, and packing equipment preferred.
  • Basic Electrical and Electronics Knowledge.
  • Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics.
  • Ability to identify parts and components.
  • Must know how to read and use micrometer to the .0001(ten thousands) place.
  • Must be able to read a ruler to the 1/8 of an inch and their decimal equivalent.
  • Electro-Mechanical certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a production environment required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic components.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with supervisors, peers and operators.
  • Internal: Must be in good performance standings on most recent review.
