Job description

Surgical Gynecologist
High Lakes Gynecology | Praxis Health | Bend, Oregon
High Lakes Gynecology, part of Praxis Health, is seeking a BE/BC Gynecologist to join our established surgical gynecology practice in Bend, Oregon. This is a 100% gynecology role with no obstetrics, offering a balanced practice of approximately 50% outpatient gynecology and 50% surgical care.
Our physicians are both surgeons and general gynecologists, each caring for their own established patient panel and building lasting relationships with patients over time. This is an ideal opportunity for a physician who values the continuity and relationships of community-based gynecology as much as the technical and procedural aspects of surgery.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a residency-trained OB/GYN who is a confident and skilled surgeon, but equally important, a compassionate and approachable gynecologist who deeply cares about women's health and enjoys caring for patients across the continuum of their gynecologic needs.
This is a community-based practice where the surgeon is also the general gynecologist. Each physician manages their own patient panel, providing ongoing outpatient care while also performing surgery when clinically appropriate. The practice is intentionally balanced at approximately 50% clinic and 50% surgery, making continuity of care and strong patient relationships central to the role.
Fellowship training in either minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS) or urogynecology is a plus but not required. Experience with robotic and/or advanced laparoscopic technique is valued, as is interest in incorporating office-based ultrasound to further characterize gynecologic conditions. Our patients present with the full range of benign gynecologic conditions, so the right candidate should be comfortable managing and surgically treating:
  • Abnormal uterine bleeding, adenomyosis, and uterine fibroids
  • Endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain
  • Pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence (a plus but not required)
  • Infertility work-up and management
  • Complex and routine hysterectomy
  • Hysteroscopic and other minimally invasive procedures

New graduates, as well as experienced physicians, with strong surgical training, who value a balanced clinic and surgical practice, are encouraged to apply.
Practice Highlights
  • 100% gynecology - no obstetrics
  • Approximately 50/50 balance of outpatient gynecology and surgical care
  • Established individual patient panel with an emphasis on continuity of care
  • Full-spectrum general gynecology alongside surgical practice
  • 4-day clinical workweek
  • Shared call among practice providers
  • Established patient demand with an active referral base
  • Dedicated gynecology clinic with experienced clinical support staff
  • Collaborative, physician-led practice environment

Qualifications
• BE/BC Surgical Gynecologist
• Active medical license in Oregon (or ability to obtain)
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain
• Current CPR/AED certification
• Fellowship training in either minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS) or urogynecology is a plus but not required
• Commitment to compassionate, relationship-centered women's health and continuity of care in a community practice
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary plus production incentive (specifics provided during interview process)
  • Relocation assistance and sign-on bonus available
  • 6 weeks time off
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Malpractice insurance with tail coverage
  • Retirement plan, CME allowance, licensure, and DEA registration covered

High Lakes Gynecology
Since 2008, High Lakes Gynecology has provided comprehensive gynecologic care for women throughout Central Oregon. Located within our dedicated Hosmer Lake building on the Shevlin Park campus, the practice offers a full spectrum of office and surgical gynecology in a setting intentionally designed around women's health.
Our model is rooted in continuity. Physicians develop their own patient panels, care for patients longitudinally in the outpatient setting, and provide surgical treatment when needed. This allows our gynecologists to know the patients they operate on and continue caring for them beyond the procedure-combining the rewards of surgery with the relationships of community-based medicine.
As part of High Lakes Health Care and Praxis Health, you'll practice alongside providers who believe medicine is built on lasting relationships, clinical autonomy, and doing what's right for each patient. Our physicians are supported by experienced nurses, medical assistants, and administrative professionals who allow providers to focus on delivering exceptional care rather than navigating unnecessary bureaucracy.
Praxis Health
Praxis Health is the Pacific Northwest's largest independent, provider-led healthcare network, caring for communities throughout Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.
Our mission is simple: deliver compassionate, relationship-centered care while empowering physicians to practice medicine the way they believe it should be practiced. We prioritize continuity, collaboration, and local decision-making over corporate bureaucracy, creating an environment where providers can focus on their patients while enjoying meaningful professional support and work-life balance.
If you're looking for a practice where your voice matters, your patients come first, and your career can thrive for years to come, we'd love to meet you.
